A new class of expert has entered the knowledge economy over the last decade, empowered by improved technology and lower connectivity costs worldwide. Expertise that was once only accessible through the Rolodexes and connections of distinguished elders of politics and industry has become easier to reach.
During this time, Cenk Sidar was building a global affairs consulting business on the old Rolodex model, but saw a larger set of consulting needs going unmet. Bilal Baloch was working with some of the world’s leading policymakers and doing his own advanced research in international relations, exposing him to under-utilized in-country experts and academics. Fatih Orhan was applying his project management and engineering toolkit to grow a bi-national business promotion council, and saw that emerging machine learning technology could change the way people collaborated across borders. Discussing these technologies and trends, they came up with an idea for a new type of business.
In 2016, they started GlobalWonks. Since then, we have grown with the addition of software engineers, data scientists, business professionals, and a world-class Advisory Council. For clients, we provide freedom from ‘Big Four’ fees or boutique-firms hopping to cover all of your regional and market areas of interest. Instead, you get direct access to all the expertise needed to make informed decisions. For wonks, we provide a way to reach new clients and grow your business, a community to develop your professional expertise, and relief from administrative hassles like drafting contracts and chasing payment.
